Pyramids and Spirals recorded in 1995 has a lot of songs written about my travels. Germany was a great inspiration. Being a real history nut I went looking for the Führerbunker in Berlin. In those days there weren't any signs so I had to figure it out by looking at old photos. I found a pile of rocks that I thought was in the right place and sat down. A young fellow rode up on a bike and spoke to me in German, I explained I only spoke English. "You are American?" I said "I've been accused of a lot of different things but never being American. I'm Australian". "OK Australian lets smoke a joint on the Führerbunker". So for the next 2 hours I sat talking to Ollie where so much modern history had taken place.
There are other story's, about my visit to the southern music towns of the US, a song I first started writing 10 years before and just couldn't finish, and about Northern New South Wales. The old Queenslander in me comes out with 'Tropical Rain'. Dark thoughts about the environmental catastrophe emerge with 'Green turns to blue' and a couple of fun boogies are thrown in. One of my favourite CD's.
